Sweet chili chicken and Orange Chicken with Fried Rice

Orange Chicken and Fried Rice is my family’s favorite takeout order from our local Chinese restaurant. This Orange Chicken and Fried Rice recipe is a one pan version of that favorite my family loves.

This Orange Chicken and Fried Rice can be easily made on a weeknight and once you have your ingredients prepped it’ll cook in about 30 minutes!

Sweet chili chicken is an easy recipe with crispy chicken and Thai sweet chili sauce. This chicken recipe is so good you will want to lick the plate!

Sweet chili chicken and Orange Chicken with Fried Rice

Here are recipes for Sweet Chili Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Fried Rice:

Sweet Chili Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour the sweet chili sauce mixture over the cooked chicken and stir until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Orange Chicken:

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • Orange zest from one orange
  • Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, cornstarch, minced garlic, grated ginger, and orange zest.
  2. In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned and cooked through.
  4. Pour the orange sauce mixture over the cooked chicken and stir until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  5. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Fried Rice:

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups cooked and chilled rice (preferably day-old)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry until tender.
  3. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan and pour beaten eggs into the other side. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
  4. Add the chilled rice to the pan, breaking up any clumps.
  5. Pour soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice, stirring to combine with the vegetables and eggs.
  6. Continue to stir-fry until the rice is heated through.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions.

Serve the Sweet Chili Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Fried Rice together for a delicious and flavorful meal!
