Millionaire Fudge

Millionaire Fudge is the perfect old-fashioned recipe that will take you down memory lane with Grandma’s fudge recipes.

Millionaire Fudge is my all-time favorite fudge. It is, without a doubt, the most incredibly scrumptious fudge you will ever eat.

In the 1950s, marshmallow whip creme was introduced to fudge recipes by Mamie Eisenhower, who changed the entire concept of how easy it is to make, not to mention how delicious.

I grew up assisting my mother in making this fudge every year for Christmas. We looked forward to helping scoop the fudge with a tablespoon and pushing it out with another onto wax paper.

As soon as we were finished, we would take the spoons and scrape every little bit of fudge we could possibly get off the sides of the pan.

Oh, you haven’t lived until you have eaten every little bit of hot fudge happiness.

Here’s a recipe for Millionaire Fudge:

Millionaire Fudge Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 4 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow creme
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts), optional
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
  1. Prepare Pan:
    • Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
  2. Combine Sugar, Evaporated Milk, and Butter:
    • In a large, heavy saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Boil:
    • Once the mixture is boiling, continue to stir and let it boil for 7-10 minutes or until it reaches the soft-ball stage (about 234-240°F or 112-115°C).
  4. Remove from Heat:
    • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the chocolate chips until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Add Marshmallow Creme, Nuts, and Vanilla:
    • Add the marshmallow creme, nuts (if using), and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined.
  6. Pour into Pan:
    • Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Let It Set:
    • Allow the fudge to cool and set at room temperature for several hours or overnight.
  8. Cut into Squares:
    • Once the fudge is set, use the parchment paper overhang to lift it from the pan. Place it on a cutting board and cut into squares.
  9. Store:
    • Store the Millionaire Fudge in an airtight container at room temperature. It can also be refrigerated for longer storage.

Enjoy your delicious Millionaire Fudge!
