Delicious Mexican restaurant-style white cheese dip (queso blanco):
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste for spice)
- 8 ounces white American cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 1 can (4 ounces) diced green chilies, drained
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare Ingredients:
- Shred the white American cheese and Monterey Jack cheese.
- Drain the diced green chilies.
