Melting Italian Meatballs

1/2 cup (125 mL) Italian breadcrumbs
2/3 cup (160ml) milk
1 lb (454 g) ground beef
1/4 medium onion finely diced
2 minced garlic cloves
1 large beaten egg
1 C. To. tea (5 ml) salt or to taste
1/2 tsp. To. tea (2.5 ml) black pepper
1/4 cup (60 ml) parmesan cheese, preferably Parmigiano-Reggiano
1 C. To. soup (15 ml) of fresh parsley or 1 tbsp. To. tea (5 ml) dried parsley
