Instructions:

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish to prepare it for the cake.

Prepare the Cake Batter: Follow the instructions on the German chocolate cake mix box. Combine the cake mix with the required ingredients (usually eggs, oil, and water) and mix until smooth.

Bake the Cake: Pour the prepared batter into the greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven according to the cake mix package instructions, usually about 25-30 minutes.

Cool and Poke Holes: After baking, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool slightly. Then, take the handle of a wooden spoon and poke holes all over the surface of the cake.

Add Sweetened Condensed Milk and Caramel Topping: Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, allowing it to seep into the holes. Next, evenly pour the caramel topping over the cake, spreading it so that it covers the surface.

Add Toppings: In a small bowl, mix together the shredded coconut, chopped pecans, and chocolate chips. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the cake.

Cool Completely and Add Whipped Topping: Let the cake cool completely. Once cooled, spread the Cool Whip or whipped topping evenly over the entire cake.

Final Touch – Drizzle Caramel: Drizzle additional caramel topping over the whipped topping for extra flavor and decoration.

Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to let all the flavors meld together and to make it easier to cut and serve. Slice, serve, and enjoy this heavenly dessert!
