1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your choice), cooked to your liking and thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced into rings
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
4 sandwich rolls or hoagie buns
2 tbsp mayonnaise
2 tbsp Dijon mustard
Optional: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles for garnish
