Instructions:
Marinate the Beef:
In a bowl, toss the thinly sliced beef with 1 tablespoon soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of sugar. Stir well to coat and allow the beef to marinate for at least 10 minutes, infusing it with flavor.
Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce:
In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining tablespoon of soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, water, and sugar until smooth. Set this sauce aside for later.
Sauté the Onions:
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat. Toss in the sliced onions and stir-fry them for about 5 minutes until they soften and develop a slight caramelization. Once done, remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
Cook the Beef:
Add the remaining tablespoon of oil to the same pan. Toss in the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Add minced garlic and ginger, stirring continuously for another minute to enhance the aroma.
Combine and Serve:
Return the sautéed onions to the pan. Pour in the prepared sauce, stirring everything together. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until the flavors meld beautifully. Serve the stir-fry hot over a bed of steamed rice, garnished with freshly chopped green onions.
