Ingredients:
1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
1 cup cooked chicken, chopped or shredded
1/2 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1/3 cup ranch dressing
2 tablespoons olive oil (for brushing)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried parsley (for garnish)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Pizza Dough:
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle, about 10×14 inches.
Add the Fillings:
- Spread the ranch dressing evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border along the edges.
- Distribute the cooked chicken and crumbled bacon over the ranch dressing.
- Sprinkle both the mozzarella and cheddar cheeses over the top of the chicken and bacon.
- Season with a little salt and pepper to taste.
Roll the Stromboli:
- Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Pinch the seams and the ends closed to seal all the fillings inside.
Prepare for Baking:
- Transfer the roll to the prepared baking sheet, seam side down.
- Brush the top and sides of the stromboli with olive oil, and then sprinkle with garlic powder and dried parsley.
Bake the Stromboli:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
Cool and Serve:
- Let the stromboli cool for about 5 minutes before slicing it into pieces.
- Serve warm, possibly with extra ranch dressing for dipping if desired.
Tips:
- Dough Thickness: Be careful not to roll the dough too thin; this could cause it to break and let the filling leak during baking.
- Sealing: Ensure the edges are well sealed to prevent any filling from escaping during the cooking process.
- Variations: Feel free to add vegetables like diced bell peppers, onions, or spinach for added flavor and texture.
- Cooking Chicken: For convenience, you can use leftover chicken, rotisserie chicken, or even canned chicken breast.
