Instructions:
Prepare the Cajun Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix together garlic powder, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper. Set aside.
Make the Honey Butter: Using an electric hand mixer, beat the butter until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Blend in the honey and 1 tablespoon of the prepared Cajun seasoning until smooth. The remaining Cajun seasoning can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Season each fillet with salt and pepper, then rub lightly with oil.
Cook the Salmon: Preheat a grill or grill pan. Cook the salmon for 6-8 minutes on each side, or until the fish is opaque and the surface is crusty.
Apply the Cajun Honey Butter: After cooking, turn off the heat and spread a generous amount of Cajun honey butter over each salmon fillet. Allow it to melt for about 30 seconds, then use the back of a spoon to spread the butter evenly. Flip the fillets and repeat on the other side.
Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with chopped cilantro or parsley. Serve the salmon immediately while hot and flavorful.
