1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Cherry Filling:
1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or canned, drained)
1/4 cup cherry juice (from canned cherries or cherry preserves)
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Chocolate Ganache (optional topping):
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
